‘When I was looking for a cover / storage option for my new Piaggio MP3 300 HPE scooter, I first thought of a tarpaulin to throw over it. But as this seemed too impractical, I needed something more uncomplicated. After a short internet search, I came across the so-called folding garages.

These are priced between 150-400 €, but the simple versions usually have relatively poor internet ratings.

The more expensive models around €300 are generally better in terms of workmanship and handling. During my research, I discovered that many of these garages are manufactured in China. The only garage that is made in Germany is the Bike Home garage system. After thinking about it for a while, I ordered a garage. Ordered on Sunday - delivered on Tuesday. It couldn't have gone any better!!!

Everything was delivered neatly in a large cardboard box by GLS. After unpacking the components and the film, you immediately realised that everything made a high-quality impression.

You need to allow approx. 1-1 1/2 hours for assembly, in my opinion a second person is absolutely necessary for assembly, it is quite difficult to impossible to assemble the garage alone.
The assembly instructions are actually quite well done, but could be better executed in the details, e.g. where is the front or rear of the tarpaulin, but that was all the negatives.....

During installation on the paving on the left-hand side, I placed an oak strip underneath which was then dowelled in place. As my paving has a slope and the garage would have been at an angle as a result. The scooter fits easily into the garage, even with the high windscreen. I am really impressed with the garage, it makes a good, high-quality impression, the tarpaulin is quite sturdy and the frame is also of high quality. I assume that the garage will survive a few years undamaged.’

‘So far I am really very satisfied, the assembly was very easy thanks to the instructions provided. However, you should work in pairs to thread the tarpaulin and put the struts together as this is then easier. I am really overwhelmed by the size! My moped easily fits under it! The tarpaulin and the workmanship of the entire material make a very good impression. It can't be compared with the standard tarpaulins you can buy! I like the fact that the tarpaulin gives the impression that it will last forever and you don't have to worry about replacing the old tarpaulin every spring! It's also great that you can now simply park and cover the moped and don't have to wait until it has cooled down! The contact with the manufacturer is also really great! All questions are answered promptly and nicely! Nothing to complain about so far, keep it up! Would recommend it without reservation!’

My Yamaha Fazer FZ6 fits in without any problems, but with longer bikes it will probably be tight, so I recommend possibly adding a larger version to the programme.’

‘I am very satisfied with the BIKEHOME and can only recommend it. The indisputable advantages are the real moisture protection. The motorbike or scooter is actually kept dry. The relatively large volume of the BIKEHOME, the large ventilation openings and the fact that the cover does not lie directly on the vehicle like a tarpaulin help here. This prevents condensation. An indisputable advantage is the quick folding. Nothing has to be folded, no wet tarpaulin has to be dragged around the house, just unfold it and off you go. Of course, it goes back under the ‘bonnet’ just as quickly after the journey. The only disadvantage is that I now have to remove the top case first. The maxi scooter is very long at 2.24 metres. However, the top case can be removed in seconds, so it's not too bad. The only suggestion for the manufacturer: please build two sizes of the BIKEHOME, so that the circle of buyers expands.’

In the past, I often forgot to cover the bike after it had cooled down. This can no longer happen to me! Strong winds or even storms - which my BIKEHOME has already survived without damage - can no longer ‘expose’ my motorbike. I also no longer have to look for my cover at the neighbours'. The usual covers get dirty quickly and are difficult to clean. The BIKEHOME can be cleaned quickly and easily thanks to the tightly stretched surface. The BIKEHOME also looks neat and solid compared to the bulky overcoats. However, I do have one suggestion for improvement. The side ventilation openings should be covered with a net or something similar, as birds can get in here and soil the motorbike.’
